Cherry Godiva

Cherry Godiva is the creative name of Nabina Mitra. Born in the UK in Ashford (Surrey), to parents of Indian origin, Cherry is a writer, dancer, stand-up comedian, poet, singer songwriter, actor, performer, and founder and lead singer of the band Cherry Sundaze. She also works as an event co-ordinator, and has organised fully catered events for up to 60 people.

Cherry has decades of experience in the performing arts and has performed at various venues throughout the UK. Her written work has been published internationally in local papers and magazines. She was singing from before she was two years old and first performed solo in public as a child. She has experience in various dance styles including but not limited to: BharataNatyam (In which she has a first class diploma), Ballet, Tap, Belly dancing and Salsa. She is also experienced in teaching and is available for parties or private classes. She has plans in the works to run regular dance classes (Indian dancing plus) in the Spelthorne area from January 2025

In 2009 she was in a short film about dance and mental health that was shown on Channel 5 and the Community Channel, called 'Mad for Dance'.

She graduated from Kingston University in 2021 with a first class degree, with a minor in Creative Writing (her major subject was Psychology).
